Additional Requirements

For a Catholic Organization outside of the United States which is NOT an Arch/Diocese, parish, church, school, university, hospital, religious order or congregation:

The Raskob Foundation will consider applications from other Catholic organizations outside of the U.S., if the following steps are taken:

  1. The organization must first obtain a letter from its Arch/Diocesan bishop, or its official Episcopal moderator appointed by the Holy See, attesting to the fact that the organization is formally Catholic and in communion with the Church’s teachings and authority. Such a letter must be received by the Raskob Foundation before an application for funding is sent to the organization seeking a grant. This letter may be faxed or sent via postal mail. (This preliminary letter would also fulfill the requirement of a Letter of Acknowledgement by the Diocesan Bishop that is formally required as part of the application package.)

  2. The Raskob Foundation will then send an application package which must be completed and returned during one of the Foundation’s funding cycles. Our Board of Trustees meets twice a year (May and November) to act upon requests. Applications are accepted only between December 8-February 8 for our Spring Meeting, and only between June 8-August 8 for our Fall Meeting.

  3. If the Foundation decides to fund the application, the grant will be transmitted through the Arch/Diocesan Bishop, a Papal Nuncio, or through the department of the Holy See of the organization’s official Episcopal Moderator. The Bishop through whom the funds are transmitted will also be asked to agree to review both the project evaluation and expenditure report, required by the Foundation within one (1) year of the receipt of the grant funds, and attest to their accuracy. These reports may then be submitted to The Raskob Foundation to complete the reporting requirements
