Are there any other restrictions I should be aware of? (top)
Yes. Concerning Construction Projects. In general, requests to fund large construction projects have a low priority with the Raskob Foundation. Building or Renovation Projects costing over $200,000 are not accepted for consideration until:

Must the completed application form and supporting documentation be received or postmarked by the deadline date? (top)
Applications must be received at the Foundation's Office by the Spring or Fall deadline date in order to be eligible for consideration. These deadlines are observed regardless of holidays or weekends. When February 8 or August 8 falls on a weekend or holiday, the deadline is 5 PM of the previous business day. Due to increasing volume, we cannot guarantee that applications received in the last week of these time periods will be processed for the docket. We urge Applicants to submit applications as early as possible in each time period. Applications that arrive either too early or too late for either time period will not be considered, and are not held over for the next docket.
How will we know if you have received our completed application and supporting documentation? (top)
You will receive notification by mail that your application package and supporting documentation have been received, whether it is eligible for consideration at our upcoming meeting and if there are any items missing from your proposal.
What is a Letter from the Ordinary
of the diocese where the project will take place? (top)
It is simply a letter from the Ordinary (Cardinal, Archbishop or Bishop) of the Diocese where the project will be carried out, commenting on your application to the Raskob Foundation. In the case of religious orders not under the jurisdiction of an Ordinary, the Provincial or Mother Superior is asked to send a letter to the local Ordinary (where the project will take place) informing him about the application. A copy of this letter to the Ordinary may be submitted to the Foundation in lieu of a letter from the diocesan Ordinary.
What is a Narrative? (top)
A narrative should follow the general outline of the application form, but explain points in greater detail. It may also include any other information that you feel is important. (Not to exceed 5 typewritten pages.)
What is a Budget? (top)
A separate, detailed breakdown of the cost elements and sources of income of the program/project for which funds are being requested. The requested Raskob grant should be included among the income items.
What is a Financial Statement?
(top)
The latest official 12-month financial accounting
of the organization. It should list the organization's assets,
annual income and expenses (balance sheet and operating statement).
This can best be provided by sending the latest 12-month auditor's
report, including all notes to financial statements, and supporting
schedules.
What is the average dollar amount of grants approved for funding? (top)
The majority of the Foundation's grants are in the $10,000 to $15,000 range. Grant sizes range from $200,000 to $1,000.
What are your funding priorities? (top)
The Foundation has no official funding priorities, as such; but considers any properly submitted application that does not violate its restrictions. However, the Raskob Foundation takes interest in projects in which self-help and local support are demonstrated. Applications to the Foundation are considered on their merits. Need and the good to be accomplished are the prime considerations.
When will we be notified of the results of the Foundation's funding decisions? (top)
Grantees will be notified regarding funding decisions
approximately 12-16 weeks after the spring or fall submission
deadline.
Can we meet with a Member of the Foundation or its Staff to discuss our proposal? (top)
Meetings or phone conversations with members of
the staff of the Foundation may be requested and, if feasible,
will be arranged. In some cases meetings with Members of the Foundation
may be arranged. However, the personal schedules and privacy of
the Members limit their ability to conduct meetings. In some cases,
Members of the Foundation may request a meeting or phone conversation
when they are reviewing applications.
