The Raskob Foundation signed a Funder Safeguarding Pledge, sponsored by FADICA, a network of foundations and donors that support Catholic ministries and organizations, and initiatives that serve the common good. The Raskob Foundation is a member of FADICA, and took the pledge in part to introduce safeguarding measures to its grantee partners and assist with on-going opportunities for safeguarding education.
FADICA has prepared a one-hour, introductory seminar for all non-profits to access, offering considerations for how to build safer environments. The pre-recorded seminar explores the concept of safeguarding, and how making successful changes to one’s environment requires individual and organizational investment. Featuring contributions from Darkness to Light, Praesidium, and Teresa Kettelkamp from the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors, this seminar is an extension of FADICA’s 2/25 Safeguarding Panel.

Symposium on Child Sexual Abuse Prevention and Healing: April 8-10, 2021
Harvard University and The Catholic University of America are co-hosting the first international, interfaith, interdisciplinary symposium on Faith and Flourishing: Strategies for Preventing and Healing Child Sexual Abuse, April 8-10, 2021. FADICA is pleased to be among the co-sponsors, which entails participation, promotion and collaboration. This free symposium, open to the public, aims to unite the lay professions and the faith community in preventing and healing child sexual abuse by bringing together global leaders, clergy, scholars, theologians, and professionals from child advocacy organizations, religious communities, academia, and the public health community to develop collaborative strategies to address this serious public health crisis. Alicia Simon, FADICA Vice President, is a featured speaker.
While many presentations will be offered on-demand, participants will join together daily in a live hour-long round table discussion to identify actions their communities can take to prevent child sexual abuse and promote healing for its victims. Participants can also access evidence-informed tools, training materials, and multi-media resources for prevention and healing.
